Primary touch festivalA primary school Touch festival was organsied on the playing fields at Llandysul Cricket Club by Camarthenshire sports development officers. The day was a great success with four local schools and more than 50 pupils attending.
Brynsaron, Llanybydder, Tavernspite and Y Ddwylan schools all attended with many pupils trying out Touch for the first time. WALES TOUCH SERIES COMES TO LLANDYSULThe Wales Touch Series is a series of four club tournaments that takes place throughout the summer. In the 2014 series, Round 3 is to take place in Llandysul, home of Gorllewin Gwyllt.
The tournament is Mixed Open format, which means that men and women take to the field on the same team. Last year's winners, Cardiff Raptors have already confirmed that they will be coming to defend their title and some of Wales' other top Touch teams will also be in attendance. Llandysul is a village in the heart of west Wales in rural Ceredigion. Situated right next to the river Teifi, it is probably best known for it's fishing and the adventure activity providers, Llandysul Paddlers. WTS will be played on the pitches immediately adjacent to the cricket oval, home to Llandysul Cricket Club and Llandysul Bowls Club. The pitches are very well maintained and are of a high standard. See photos from the 2013 WTS tournament hosted by Gorllewin Gwyllt at Llandysul. |

2013 TOURNAMENT REVIEWWales Touch Association’s annual tournament on Pendine Sands took place over two days with the Men's and Women's Comp on the Saturday, followed by the Mixed Open Competition on the Sunday.
Gorllewin Gwyllt, in only their second ever tournament, entered a mixed team and were able to keep one of the weekend's trophies in the Wild West by winning the Plate Competition. GG were drawn in the same group as favourites (and eventual winners), Cardiff Raptors as well as Irish club, Sandymount. On the other side of the draw were Phoenix Touch, Varsity Vandals, TMTY and Saxons. In the first game against Raptors, GG faced an extremely tough challenge, facing a well-organised and experienced Touch unit. Raptors were lead by Wales Mixed Open player coach, Gareth Revell and despite fielding some younger players, boasted a very experienced side with a number of Welsh international Touch players.
